1. Frank Lucas
Fortune: $50 Million
Frank Lucas AKA “Superfly” was a major heroin smuggler and drug deals in the 60s and 70s. Famously known for buying his supplies direct from sources in the Golden Triangle Lucas stored the goods in coffins of dead American soldiers to get them in the U.S. In 1975 his home was raided with over half a million in cash. He was then arrested and sentenced to 70 years in prison for over 100 drug related charges but was released after 5 years on lifetime parole.
His life and career was famously dramatized in Ridley Scott’s 2007 film American Gangster, portrayed by Denzel Washington.
